Plantcare expands after its first year of successful trading
After it’s first year of successful trading Plantcare has announced the appointment of two new members of staff to strengthen its team and further expand the scope of the services it provides.
Tim Sly (47) has joined the company in the newly created role of Business Development Manager. He will be responsible for a specific project designed to enhance the penetration of the Paraweb fencing product into new markets as well as looking at the overall structure of the business to enable Plantcare to provide more support to its customers and looking for new markets where the Plantcare product portfolio can make an impact.
“We’re delighted that Tim has decided to join us,” said Plantcare Commercial Director Tony Marriott. “He brings a wealth of experience to the team including man management, product innovation and business development skills, which are going to make a big difference to the way we operate and service our customers.”
Nottingham-based Tim (47), who is married to April and has three children, is passionate about the business development role. “I’m extremely excited about being asked to join a new and progressive company such as Plantcare and I’m confident that the business will continue to grow and expand.”
Also new to the team is 30-year-old Dominic Thomas, who has been appointed as UK business executive, with the role of providing increased support to existing customers and helping to development new business opportunities.
Dominic was previously a Team Leader at the Toyota car manufacturing plant at Burnaston near Derby. “Leaving a blue-chip company like Toyota for a small business like Plantcare was a bit nerve-wracking,” he said. “But I’m sure it was the right decision – the potential here is massive and every single day is different and challenging. I’m really enjoying the job.”
Tony Marriott said that Dominic had already made a big difference to Plantcare. “He’s shown a great aptitude for the business and understands the importance of delivering a quality service. He gets on well with all our customers and has already made an impact by finding new avenues of business for us.
“With Tim and Dominic on-board I’m sure that 2008 is going to be a year to remember at Plantcare.”
